My name is Terri O’Connell and I was born in Boston, MA. I located to Southern California after college to start a career in aerospace engineering. Since retiring, I have jumped into art which has been a hobby with far too little time to enjoy while working full time.

I primarily create art in acrylic and colored pencil but sometimes reach back to my first love, graphite. I love to try other media but these are where most of my work is. From the engineering side of the brain, I appreciate the level of detail that is attainable with colored pencil and graphite. Then with acrylic I have been able to explore looser style.

My art seeks to celebrate the people and places around me. I hope for the viewer to see the beauty and the subtle details that others might miss but add so much. I am working on a series of paintings that cherish childhood and invite the viewers to recall that simple time and the seemingly endless curiosity. My strong desire is that my art be accessible to and enjoyed by as many people as possible. I want to touch on human themes that we all understand and enjoy.
